Albertans are being urged to dig out their old lottery tickets and double-check their numbers, as no one has come forward yet to claim a $14.9-million jackpot that expires in just over a week's time.
The Lotto 6/49 ticket was sold in Alberta for the June 7, 2006, draw. Lottery officials say two tickets had the winning numbers 11, 12, 14, 27, 34 and 48. One person in Nova Scotia has already claimed their share of the prize.
"With the deadline to claim this prize approaching, we'd like to see the winner or winners of the $14.9-million prize come forward," said Kathleen Polyak, spokesperson for Western Canada Lottery Corporation, in a release.
If the prize is not claimed by the deadline, the money will be funnelled back into future draws.
